Our principal and staff
Our school team is committed to every student’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. We work together to create a supportive and inclusive school where every child is set up for success.
Welcome from our principal
Warami, and welcome to Blackheath Public School.
I’m delighted to introduce you to our school community, a place where every student is supported to learn, grow, and belong. Established in 1885, our school is a proud and enduring part of the Blue Mountains, built on the traditional lands of the Dharug and Gundungurra peoples. We respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of this beautiful country and honour their ongoing connection to the land.
At Blackheath Public School, we believe in creating a safe, respectful, and responsible learning environment. Our vision places students at the heart of all we do. Together, we foster lifelong learning through high expectations and a rich curriculum that includes sport, the arts, leadership, sustainability programs, and a wide range of extracurricular activities.
We value respect, curiosity, and teamwork. These are qualities we see in our students every day. Our dedicated staff work closely with families and our active P&C to build strong partnerships that ensure each child feels valued and inspired.
Our school totem, the Crimson Rosella, beautifully symbolises our community spirit. Like the Rosella, we encourage every student to spread their wings, achieve their best, and support one another with care and kindness.
I warmly invite you to explore our website and learn more about what makes Blackheath Public School a wonderful place to learn and grow. We look forward to welcoming your family into our school community.
Thank you for considering Blackheath Public School as a place for your child’s education.
