Students and staff are urged to take care during catastrophic bushfire conditions.
For students in Year 2-6 and for the first 60 students who return their money and notes. The Scheme will continue daily for two weeks from Monday the 11th of November to Friday the 22nd of November. There will be no charge for instruction, however, you will need to pay for transport by bus and pool entry, which involves a sum of $7 per day (this total has been subsidised by the school). The total cost of 10 days is $70. The children will leave school at 12:30am and return by 2:30pm. Payment of the $70 must be received no later than Monday 4th November to secure your child's place in the scheme. Please note spaces are limited so send in your note and money as soon as possible. Blackheath Public School are holding a Great Book Swap on Wednesday 20th November in support of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. This event will raise funds to support the development of literacy skills in children living in remote Indigenous communities. Please send your child to school with a book - or more than one - to donate to the Great Book Swap, and a gold coin for each book they would like to buy and take home. Ideally the book they bring in is one they have loved reading but can bear to part with, to share their joy in reading with others.
The P&C will be holding a Clothes and Toy Swap on 30th November. Donations of clean, good quality clothes and toys will be accepted from Monday 25th November at the front office. Leftover items will be sold at the Community Markets on Sunday 1st December.

Students are asked to make their own way to and from Katoomba High School to the Year 7 Orientation Day and bring a pencil case, paper and food for recess. A sausage sizzle will be provided at lunch. AND An invitation to an Information Evening is extended to parents/caregivers of Year 6 students attending Katoomba High School in 2020. If you have not already attended morning tea or had a tour of the school this will be a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Katoomba High School. Please refer attached notefs for further details.
