Upper Blue Mountains Music Festival Rehearsal

This year the Year 2 choir will participate in the Upper Blue Mountains Music Festival. This is an annual festival involving 8 Upper Blue Mountains schools and Lithgow PS. There will be three combined schools rehearsals, one matinee and one evening performances. Please refer attached note for further details.

In 2014, the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program was introduced at Blackheath PS. This year our cooking lessons will be taught to each Stage 2 class in Terms 1, 2 and 3. During these lessons, as much as possible, we will be cooking with vegetables and fruits harvested from our garden. We will, however, need other ingredients for our fantastic recipes and request an amount of $15 per student to cover the cost of all of the lessons. Please refer attached notes for details.

We are very excited to announce that authors R.A. Spratt and Oliver Phommavanh will be visiting our school on 28 June. Students in years 3 to 6 are invited to attend their presentation. Both authors are much loved by many of our students and this is an excellent opportunity for students to hear first hand the processes authors follow to write engaging and exciting books.  The cost for this incursion will be $2. Bear Cottage Mufti Day

On Friday 28th June, the SRC with be holding a Mufti Day to support Bear Cottage which is located in Manly. Please come to school on the 28/6/19 dressed as your favourite Super Hero. Please wear sensible shoes, and leave all weapons at home! A donation of a gold coin would be appreciated. Please refer attached note for further details.
